Wonderfully nestled in the white mountains of the Vorarlberg Alps, the semi-detached house of Chalet N is a dream that is as exquisite as it is down-to-earth. This basic idea of exclusivity and commitment to the region is also implemented in the chalet’s kitchen. Offering guests the maximum in culinary elegance without losing sight of the culinary traditions of the mountain region is always the passion of the chef of the kitchen and his team. Innovation through tradition is the motto in this reinterpretation of Alpine cuisine. From rustic to luxurious, traditional to international, guests can always dine at Chalet N at the highest level. Each meal is also accompanied by a rich and international selection of exclusive wines from the Chalet N wine cellar.

Dining


The cuisine at Chalet N elegantly spans a wide range: From conventional dishes from the Voralberg region, such as roast pork and Wiener schnitzel, liver cheese or game dishes, to traditional Kaiserschmarren. Everything is prepared with ingredients from the region. This culinary offer is completed by international delicacies such as beef from Japan, tuna from Spain and white truffles from Italy, which unfold their aroma so inimitably in pasta. All dishes are homemade and committed to optimal quality.

Structure is given to the culinary culture of Chalet N by the meals of the day: breakfast, lunch and snack menu, afternoon tea or après-ski to the dinner event. In addition, the kitchen is always open, and the team is there for guests around the clock – with room service on request. However, eating together has a special significance at Chalet N: from the sharing concept at lunch to fine dining with five courses in the evening.

Wining


Finding the right wine from Chalet N’s wine cellar, which is superbly stocked with around 200 bottles, is always the most noble task of the sommelier and catering manager. Wines from all interesting wine regions are available, including Austria, Italy, Germany and France, as well as the New World. Exclusive cooperations exist, for example, with the Maison Champagne Collard Picard or the Schloss Halbturn winery.

The wine cellar also offers wines from the Nikolaihof winery, the oldest winery in Austria, which cultivates its wines according to biodynamic Demeter guidelines. Excellent and rare Bordeaux wines are available in many oversizes for special occasions.

Location


Guests have a free choice of location for dinner every evening: From fine dining at the large table in the restaurant, with its architecturally very successful melange of classic elegance and modernly quoted regional wooden architecture, to the kitchen party with DJ, front cooking and flying buffet. Wine menus at the chef’s table are served directly in the wine cellar, which has a unique and elegant flair. Tasting menus for special wines are also possible, with the winemakers presenting them personally on request. Those who prefer a more relaxed atmosphere will find modern interpretations of cosiness in the fireplace & lounge bar.

Anything is possible, says Olivier Gerber, the host at Chalet N: for example, a winter barbecue on the terrace of the chalet or a small Christmas market, with mulled wine, punch and hot chestnuts – all against the beautiful backdrop of the deep-snow mountain landscape. For those who love traditional alpine food, the Walser-Stübli with fondue, raclette and grilling on the hot stone is recommended.

Kitchen


The kitchen is happy to spontaneously respond to guests’ menu requests and is open to suggestions. The kitchen team is also happy to fulfil special requests for vegan or vegetarian dishes, with hummus and falafel as well as vegan deluxe burgers or vegetarian pasta being just a few examples.

At Chalet N, it’s the team that counts, and it’s quite possible that the chef himself will be serving. Interesting cooking classes are offered on request, and entertaining baking classes are organised for children.

The kitchen brigade brings a highly interesting mix of experience from both international and Alpine regions. The culinary creations and menus of the chalet’s kitchen are oriented towards the highest standards, with a view to products, preparation and the creativity of the kitchen team.
